Sponsor or Foster a Horse Each horse on the farm costs a minimum of $175 a month for feed, farrier, vet, shavings and other maintenance. Some, with special needs have much higher expenses. Many people send cash donations… thank you… please remember that no amount is too small. You can also send donations in memory of a loved one, person or pet. If you feel you or your kids may not be ready for the responsibility of horse ownership, consider temporary horse keeping of one of our special needs old folk. No one with medical considerations will be allowed to leave our farm but, we have a host of older, very gentle horses, who would love to be on your pasture and doted on for a season. They are all up to date on shots and coggins, you need only provide farrier and feed and lots of loving hands.

Hoof N’ Woof Thrift Store Sunkissed Acres has a thrift store in Summerville, GA which has horsey and non-horsey items.  Many of you have donated items including washers and dryers, saddles and tack, clothing, and household items.  Donations are always welcome.  Just send them to the address below or for larger items within a reasonable distance, we will pickup.  Feel free to call us, thank you!

Host a Fundraiser Volunteering does not mean you have to come to the farm.  You can do your own fund raiser at a local horse show, bake sale, youth organizations, pony club….  We would be glad to send you information. A very worthwhile idea for those who host shows,  add a one dollar additional entry fee to be donated to our charity.  Its amazing just how many people you have come to your show or…you can donate one class to go to rescue.  There are a myriad of ideas which wont put people out of pocket by more than a dollar or two and those dollars add  up.

Volunteer Many groups have done farm work days for a club project.  We have had pony clubs, adult groups and riding stables come and do work days.  If you are interested, just give Lori a call and we can try to schedule something.  It is great to see the horses face to face!

Help When You Shop

Do you buy from Country Supply or Food Lion?  If so, you can register with them to have a percentage of your purchase sent to Sunkissed Acres. USERS OF SOUTHERN STATES, TRIPLE CROWN AND LEGENDS FEED. One of the greatest ways you can help our farm,  on the back of all these feeds mentioned is a proof of purchase coupon.  Just a small guy that says POP.  Cut and save these and mail them to us. I cant begin to tell you how these add up to savings and feed for the horses.  They are absolutely invaluable.  Please, it takes only a moment and goes so far to helping the horses.

Our Wish List Many have asked about a farm wish list… here are some items we always need:

supplements, senior feed, volunteer time, smaller size horse blankets, any items for the thrift store.  As well,  if you have, can spare or purchase or simply want a tax write off. Stall forks,  they always lose their teeth. Water troughs or cheaply and ideally, the muck bucket things had cheaply at the dollar store. A tall stock trailer,  hey, it cant hurt to ask. Fencing materials, preferably a safe type or electric. Fly spray, both premise and horse.  Pirahna is  favored by the horses. Senior supplements and joint supplements. Thyrol L and Pergolide. SMZ’s  we go through those a lot. Fly masks and sheets. Your time and ideas.
